The Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University, successfully hosted a guest lecture entitled “Severe Asthma: From Pathophysiology to Precision Medicine” on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Nobuaki Miyahara, MD, Ph.D, Professor at Okayama University, Japan, an internationally recognized academic and expert in the field of respiratory medicine.
The event was held at the Department of Internal Medicine, Hasanuddin University Hospital, 5th Floor, and provided an important academic forum for physicians, faculty members, and medical professionals to broaden their understanding of severe asthma.
The lecture explored severe asthma from various perspectives, ranging from the underlying pathophysiology and disease mechanisms to the development of precision medicine approaches in the management of patients with severe asthma. The discussion highlighted the importance of understanding individual disease characteristics and applying evidence-based, personalized strategies to optimize patient outcomes.
