As part of Community Service program, the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Hasanuddin conducted a Fibroscan examination activity on Saturday, 30 August 2025, at Hikmah Citra Medika Hospital, Sengkang, Wajo Regency. Fibroscan is a non-invasive diagnostic tool used to assess liver stiffness and serves as an important early screening method for chronic liver diseases, particularly those within the scope of hepatology. Early identification of liver abnormalities enables timely intervention, prevents disease progression, enhances patient monitoring, and supports the development of more precise therapeutic strategies.
Total of 56 participants took part in this activity, demonstrating strong enthusiasm and awareness regarding the importance of liver health. The implementation of this Fibroscan screening is expected not only to facilitate early detection of liver disease but also to contribute to improving community health outcomes and quality of life in the future.
